Kamran Haider - Director
BEng (Hons), MSc, FCIHT
Kamran is the Founding Director of Pulsar Transport Planning having started the Practice in 2018. He has over 30 years’ of transport planning and highway engineering experience, mainly within the private sector but also in local government. Kamran has also worked in a transport consultancy in Vancouver, Canada.
Kamran provides strategic input and has an excellent track record in securing consents for his clients on challenging sites. He aims to ensure that clients are well-informed throughout the planning process and are taken through the most efficient route to unlock development.
Kamran has been an expert witness at Public Inquiries and represented clients at numerous Hearings and Local Plan Inquiries.
Having realised that his tennis skills are insufficient to make the Wimbledon main draw, Kamran has pivoted to mastering (i.e. learning to play) golf. He also enters the odd Parkrun, enjoys classic films and exploring wild landscapes.

Adam Humphries - Principal Transport Planner
BEng (Hons), MCIHT
Adam has 8 years’ of transport planning experience and joined Pulsar in 2020. Adam has managed and been involved in a wide variety of development planning projects including within the residential, employment, retail and leisure sectors.
Adam has a hands-on approach allowing him to adeptly manage the transport elements of projects and liaise with clients and highway authorities. He has an excellent technical background and his strong communication style allows him to articulate key issues and provide practical advice to clients and fellow consultants..
His only weakness is his unwavering support for Reading FC.

Simon Ellis - Principal Transport Planner
BSc (Hons), MSc, MCIHT, AssocRTPI
With approximately 20 years of experience in Transport Planning, Simon has extensive experience providing advice to support a wide range of land development projects. His expertise encompasses multi-modal microsimulation modelling, highway capacity analysis, and preparing Transport Assessments/Statements, consistently achieving successful outcomes in planning applications and securing necessary approvals. Building on his development planning experience, Simon provides strategic counsel to clients.
Simon lives in Croydon, loves Pompey FC, and enjoys all things sport (but mainly football). He's a former County badminton player and still tries to play socially now and then if his knees let him. You'll also find him at London gigs, enjoying food, beer, and playing "semi-competent" guitar (his words, not ours).

Ashvini Mohanathas - Assistant Transport Planner
MEng (Hons)
Ashvini has approximately two years’ consultancy experience in transport development planning. She has supported a wide range of planning applications across the UK, providing transport and highways advice for a variety of development schemes.
Her experience includes preparing Transport Assessments and Statements, Travel Plans, Site Access and Car Park Appraisals.
She possesses strong technical skills in AutoCAD and holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering. She continues to develop her technical knowledge and experience across the wider transport planning profession.
Outside of work, Ashvini enjoys creating vlogs and experimenting with baking.

Quadri Okunade - Assistant Transport Planner
BSc, MSc
Quadri is an Assistant Transport Planner bringing over a year of experience in development transport planning. His work spans Transport Statements, Travel Plans, Construction Logistics Plans and Delivery and Servicing Plans, alongside coordinating Travel Plans to help developments turn good intentions into genuine mode shift. He’s also mildly obsessed with micromobility and mobility hubs, small interventions with big potential.
Prior to moving into development planning, Quadri gained more than four years of wider transport-sector experience across airport, and freight operations and analysis and rail customer service in Nigeria and the UK. This background gives him a practical understanding of how transport systems function and how people actually travel.
Outside the office, Quadri is an avid podcast listener, a fan of poetry and spoken words, and someone who enjoys a good investigation series. He plays football when he can, supports Arsenal faithfully, and has recently become a houseplant enthusiast with a growing collection at home.

Fifi Chan - Graduate Transport Planner
BEng (Hons)
Fifi is a Graduate Transport Planner who recently completed her MSc in Transport and City Planning after achieving First-Class Honours in Civil Engineering at UCL. She has a particular interest in active and public transport, with her MSc dissertation exploring how cycling route choices in London vary between different groups, considering factors such as gender, age, ethnicity, travel purpose and confidence level.
Through her studies, Fifi has developed experience in accessibility and spatial analysis using GIS, statistical analysis using SPSS, data collection and survey design, as well as AutoCAD. She joined Pulsar to continue expanding her knowledge of transport planning and put what she has learnt into practice.
Outside of work, Fifi loves making people laugh and has always had a creative side, from doing drama at school to once taking to the drums for Battle of the Bands. She is also a big food lover, enjoys capturing spontaneous moments with friends (particularly in photobooths), and is a massive dog lover, having owned six dogs despite, rather inconveniently, being allergic to them!
